Future Stars Athletics Basketball Training: 101
There are no hidden tricks, no magic dust, or easy ways out, your child will need to work hard to become the player that they are capable of becoming. Making the school or elite team will depend on your child's time, effort and dedication. Future college scholarships are out there and attainable for most, but to be the one that is chosen, it will require fundamentals and skills taught by those who have been there. Future Stars Basketball Training is dedicated to helping your child develop the skills needed to succeed on today's basketball court.
Little Dribblers -For first time players & those playing on 8ft Goals (Pre-K - 2nd Grade)
This program is designed to teach young players how fun the game of basketball can be while they learn the introductory fundamentals of the game, such as how to dribble, pass and shoot. Hand/eye coordination is a major area of focus. Patience is the virtue as these players slowly but surely develop basic skills that will get them ready for competition. For FIRST TIME players and those still playing on 8ft Goals
Beginners -For young and 1st time players playing on 10ft Goals (2nd-4th grade)
Little Dribblers moving up from the 8ft goal and players who are a little bit older, but also new to the game make up the Beginners skills group. This curriculum continues to teach and enhance the basic fundaments of the game, while also starting to incorporate basic concepts/rules of the game such as traveling, double dribble, carrying, 3 seconds, etc. Building the confidence to play in a competitive 5 on 5 leagues is very important and this skills group helps to begin that process.
Advanced -For those with basic skills who play school ball or leagues (3rd - 8th Grade)
While continuing to stick with the premise of developing fundamental basketball skills, this curriculum takes things to a more advanced level by putting more of an emphasis on footwork, advanced ball handling drills, dribbling, passing and shooting with the weak hand, shooting with range and introductory
1 on 1 scoring moves. For the young player with a more aggressive appetite for skill development, more sessions will also be available.
Elite -For players with very advanced skills and those playing for their school team (6th-12th Grade/College)
As the stakes get higher for players to make middle school, high school and college rosters, the level of intensity of their workouts must also increase. With an additional 30 minutes may be added, the speed, athleticism and degree of difficulty of the drills go to the next level with this skills group! Not only will players learn how to make a quicker decision with the ball, they will also learn how to make proper reads before they get it, essential for success in a faster, more competitive team environment. Team concepts will also be introduced to implement more game-like situations. The goal is to develop a razor-sharp offensive player with an equally developed basketball IQ.
